The Extended Biography

Having begun his endeavors as a magician over 20 years ago, Francis Menotti brings to his audiences a suave blend of skilled sleight of hand and wry sense of humor that leaves them laughing and amazed.

Menotti became interested in magic upon receiving a FisherPrice magic set for his 5th Christmas. Over the years, he learned almost entirely from books, looking

to classical literature and philosophy for inspiration for his now award-winning acts.

Part of Menotti's devotion to excellence comes from his years in scouting where he was awarded the BSA's highest honor, the Eagle Scout Award. Each year, Menotti also performs benefits for different national charities and not-for-profit organizations.

During his college years, Menotti co-founded the first official university magic club at Penn State University. While working with the club, he was responsible for performing for many of University President Graham Spanier's functions, as well as training Spanier in his own interest in performance magic.

Menotti graduated from Penn State University with a B.A. in public relations and a minor in psychology in December, 1999. His interests lie in writing, music, theatre arts, and web design. Most importantly, he is a believer in the preservation of magic as a performance art.

He has consulted, written and published for magicians across the country, and continues to lecture for magicians' groups on the concepts of creativity in the art of magic.  In addition to performing full time, Menotti is currently working on a number of independent film projects with magic-related themes.
